"Fugue in G Minor" is the closing movement of J. S. Bach's organ masterpiece "Fantasia & Fugue in G Minor"
[BWV 542], also known as "The Great Fantasia & Fugue in G Minor." It was transcribed for large orchestra by Jerome Laszloffy.
This work allows Bach’s genius in composition and counterpoint to shine, as well as teaching the importance of ensemble, solo lines, tone, dynamic contrast, blend and precision bowing. Every section is highlighted in this colorful transcription, with several step-out solos and wonderful cross-voicings within instrument groups. The work can stand alone or be played along with Maestro Laszloffy's transcription of the 1st half of this larger work, "Fantasia in G Minor" [BWV 542] which is also in the Sound Studio Publications catalog.
